DVD Movie Factory SE - No Dobly Digital 5.1

Post by PatBarr »

My video segments are Dobly Digital 5.1 yet when I burn a disk using Movie Factory SE it only supports DD 2. X2 worked fine with DD 5.1. Is there a work around?

Thanks, Pat

I know this was discussed a few months ago, but my recollection is a bit hazy. But if I recall correctly, if you put a fully DVD-compliant mpeg-2 file into MF 7 SE with 5.1 audio, and make sure the 'do not convert compliant mpeg files' box in the Options icon in the bottom left of screen is ticked, it is processed and output as 5.1...

Hi

When you finally hit the burn button, if the process starts with Convert Title then your video is being converted. What do you see after hitting the Burn button?

I tried it and got DD5.1.

No conversion was required.

When I added the shared MPEG-2 file to DVDMF SE, DVDMF SE asked if I wanted the project settings changed so smart rendering could be performed. I said okay to that. I burned the DVD to a folder, then used MediaInfo to check the audio properties of one of the VOB files. The audio was DD 5.1.
