I have VSP X3 with the latest updates/patches. I created a project using .mod files that were taken with a JVC video camera. I used VSP to do a batch convert of the files and turn them into .mpg files. My project came out wonderfully, and I have successfully burned a DVD of my project. However, I wanted to create an mpg file of the project, just so I could watch it on my laptop or iPod if I wanted to. I click on SHARE and then Create Video File. I select my location, choose .mpg from the drop down list and start rendering. The progress bar moves along fine, I can see my file being created, however when the rendering gets to 99% the progress bar closes and the file that was being created disappears, no error messages or anything. I have another project that I was able to render in mpg format without any problems, so I don't believe it's an application issue.
When I right click on a movie clip in the timeline (of the project that will not render) and select properties, it tells me the type is MPEG-2 Lower Frame First. When I right click on a movie clip in the timeline (of the project that does render) and select properties, it tells me the type is MPEG-1. Now I used VSP batch convert to convert the files of both projects from .mod to .mpg. I'm not sure why these files came out as MPEG-2 vs. MPEG-1 when I selected .mpg for both batch convert operations.
I tried to batch convert the .mod files again to a different format and then relink them into my project, but I get an error saying that the duration of the newly converted file needs to be a certain amount of time. But I don't understand why as it is the same length as the file I am trying to replace in my project.
Is there a setting I'm missing to get the Create Video to work with these MPEG-2 files?

Here are some of the codecs that you may want to install.
