I already read that, and did a complete uninstall, however I do not see a X2 download anywhere on the Corel website??????? I downloaded it from the site originally, but have no CD. I do have a registration key number for it. Where do I find a complete download?

Did you log into your account on the Corel site? Once you do that you can locate your purchase history and download from there.

I have been to that page. My registration is there but there is no link to a download for X2. IF you have that address, please post it here.

Go here http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite? ... ount/Login and sign in. Then scroll to the very bottom of the page to where it says Order Status and History. If you have multiple orders you may have to click on "see all orders." Then just click on your order for X2 and a download link should be on the page with your order information. Hope this helps.

Would it be there if they did not get the extended download service?

There's a good chance it is. I just checked and I can still download X1 that I purchased in Feb. of 2007 and it's well beyond the two years now, so maybe. . .

Abiel,

According to Simone, the MSI tool that is mentioned in the information provided in your link, damages the system and should not be used. Please cease with posting links that contain directions to use the MSI tool.

:x There is no link to any product I bought in 2007 or ever, From all posts I am seeing, Corel is a complete waste of time and $$$$ at this point. I'm going to Adobe Photo Shop or Picasa. The spyware ( Psiservice),the program left on my PC was not easy to get rid of requiring mucking around in the registry. Not something a customer looking for photo editing tools should have to fool with!!!!

Psiservice isn't true spyware. While many of its functions do qualify for those listed under the spyware definition one thing it doesn't match is that it's not malware or malicious in nature. I'm not saying Corel couldn't use a better method but Psiservice is not technically spyware.

As a rule of thumb you should have kept the download yourself anyway, burned to a CD or something because bad things happen. It would be nice if Corel offered the download links at all times but only one of those you have control of. If the Corel website does not offer the link any longer contact Corel directly and see if they can help you. This is just a user forum, by users for users, people like Abiel and Simone only come on here on their own time.

Try every avenue before deciding if it's worth the time and money. I mean, I own Photoshop and I still use PSP as my main one and will probably continue to buy the latest versions.

Anything left on a computer after an uninstall that has .exe can cause a number of unknown problems... I just took about 2 weeks to ferret out another one left by a program that kept trying to activate causing the blue screen of death......

I see enough problems with X3 on this site to make my decision to leave Corel alone..

Thank you for the help anyway.

@180pilot

If you still have the problem "no asset found", then

a.) close PSPP
b.) disconnect the machine from the internet/network connection completely
c.) launch PSPP
d.) when you get the activation window, this error shouldn't come up
e.) enter the serial number
f.) click on "Phone Corel" and look for your country specific Corel support
g.) They can provide you with an offline activation key as long as you have an installation code
h.) if you don't have an installation code, then they will help you
