Corel Paint Shop Photo Project Creator - Old Problem
This problem was mentioned last year. The version I am using in a month old and still the problem persists. When at the Select Photo stage of the project I cannot drill down and select a photo. The only directory choices are Desktop, Computer, my name and libraries. Clicking on the directories does nothing (or double clicking). Clicking on the twisties does nothing except for Desktop (which either closes things up so all I see is Desktop or opens it up again so I'm left with the four useless choices). Selecting a directory is fundemental to file selection so this is a useless product unless this is fixed. I am using Windows 7 pro.

This can be a problem with the workspace. To fix this, you can reset the program by following the steps from this link: http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... the-folder

Re: Corel Paint Shop Photo Project Creator - Old Problem
I checked the link and followed the instructions. Nothing was relevent. The processes mentioned were not running and the directory mentioned did not exist. I think this program has a long term fault that no one has bothered to fix. Would someone from Corel sort this out - if I cannot go to a directory and select a file then the software is totally useless.

Re: Corel Paint Shop Photo Project Creator - Old Problem
There is no guarantee that the following procedure will solve that problem, however, let's try it.
You have to open the registry in your system.
Go to Start – Run and type “regedit” and press “Enter”.
If you work with Windows Vista/7, type “regedit” in the Search box and press “Enter”.
You are now in the registry.
Open the following key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\
Before you work in the registry, please make a backup copy by the Registry first. If you make a mistake, then you can import the registry again.
Click on NameSpace and go to File - Export. Export this key to the desktop.
If you have one of the following keys, delete each step by step
Begin with:
{00020D75-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} (Outlook)
Now, launch Project Creator and test if you can open the folders. If not, then look for this key:
{C291A080-B400-4E34-AE3F-3D2B9637D56C} (@="UNCFAT IShellFolder")
Now, launch Project Creator and test if you can open the folders. If not, then look for this key:
{6af09eca-b429-11d4-a1fb-0090960218cb} (My Bluetooth Places)
Now, launch Project Creator and test if you can open the folders. If not, then look for this key:
{F3F5824C-AD58-4728-AF59-A1EBE3392799}] (Extension for Windows Desktop Search)
Deleting these keys only deletes the shortcuts on the Desktop. If you go to the program itself, e.g.:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE and look for OUTLOOK.EXE, then copy this file on your desktop and you will have again a shortcut. But this time, Windows didn't create a new key in that NameSpace folder.

Re: Corel Paint Shop Photo Project Creator - Old Problem
I have the same problem with Corel PaintShop Photo Project Creator. I am unable to access any pictures to drag to the media tray EXCEPT those pictures that are on the desktop. And the one's on the desktop are the only ones that ever show in the top portion of the program window.
If I try to expand the explorer window on the right, they do not expand (although the picture I was viewing on the desktop goes away.
I went through the processes recommended in this thread (stopping the processes in Task Manager and deleting the files in %appdata%/Corel/Digital Studio as well as the registry editing that you wrote about (the only key present from your list was {F3F5824C-AD58-4728-AF59-A1EBE3392799}] (Extension for Windows Desktop Search)
I still cannot get to any pictures other than those actually on the desktop.
