AVCHD video from Panasonic DMC-FZ100

Post by Brozek »

I have encoded AVCHD vide 1920x1080i from panasonic lumic DMC-FZ100 with error !!!
1/ Edit "clean" (without any effect) video no problem.
2/ When I use some transition effect, titles, etc.., my VS X3 always stop work.
I made a lot of test with one importatnt answer. VS X3 detects original video as 1920x1080i, Upper Field First. When I encode video to another or to same format with Upper Field First, VS always STOP.
BUT WHEN I CHANGE to Lower Field Firs or frame-based, converting is finish OK.

Why????? It´s uncomfortable, becouse I can´t use mpeg optimizer :(

VS X3 always STOP working with message about error and so that contact corel support and sent any file form TEPM file with unknown error.

First, you are absolutely correct that you MUST continue to use Upper Field First in any conversion you are carrying out. Your original video is Upper Field First, and you must maintain that throughout. I know you say you have the problem when you convert to the same format (AVCHD) so that should not be a problem. But what other formats have you tried?

Second, you tell us nothing about your computer. AVCHD, which your Lumix produces, is the most demanding of computer resources, and you need at least a decent Core 2 Duo to be able to edit and play the video properly. So please describe your computer. That is why we ask for such information when you register here, only you decided not to fill in those details. But without them, no one can really be able to help.

And I am also interested in how (or why) you used the Optimizer... What did it tell you?

Hi Ken,

1/ My computer: win7 profesional, SP1, Procesor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad Q9300 2,50GHz, RAM 4GB
2/ Lumix video: 1920x1080i, Upper Field First, 16:9, 25fr/sec, variable bit rate max. 16043kbps, Format PAL HDMV, type: H.264
3/ I converted to same AVCHD - ERROR
4/ Then I converted to HDV 720p (frame based) and PAL DVD (Lower Field First) - GOOD Finish.
5/ AVCHD with 1920x1080i, Lower Field First, 16:9, 25fr/sec, variable bit rate max. 16043kbps, Format PAL HDMV, type: H.264 is good too!

Hello Brozek,

If you are getting the error about .DMP file, I would suggest that you try updating the program first. You can download all updates for VideoStudio X3 at http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 0460544373
