Space added to end of text, text off-center

For a while now, PSP X3 has started doing this annoying and strange thing...

I do a lot of CD designs, and often I have my text centered on the front covers. When I put the text centered, however, PSP is added an extra space to the end of text, so when I center it on the canvas the text is actually off-center to the left. When I go into edit the text, there is no space on the right of the words to delete.

With the text selected this is how it looks:



The right edge of the frame should be flush with the right edge of the last 'T'.

Why is it doing this and how do I fix it?

It's a bug that's existed from the beginning. There are two suggested ways to deal with this. Either add a space at the beginning and it should be close to centered that way. Or eye-ball the difference and nudge it.

Really, since the beginning? Because I swear it didnt use to be there. In fact, Im certain of it. Does it only affect certain versions?

I'll see if there are others. But you can clearly see that Trev Bowden claims to have recorded it within the first week of PSPX3's release and the first patch had not come out yet.

I have been fighting with this same issue as well. It is very frustrating, especially when you sell the end product.

I've noticed though that even though it happens most of the time, occasionally it doesn't happen but I don't know why. This leads me to question if there is some sort of workaround.

As Levi said earlier, start your line with a space and it will be pretty close. That's the only work around that I know of.

That doesnt always work, depending on the font

If we wanted to get really silly we could write a script that first duplicates the text, converts to raster, centers based on the raster rectangle, deletes the raster layer, and moves the vector layer into place.

It would take a few seconds but until this issue is fixed it would be a potential work-around.

There are probably better easier ways, that one was simply off the top of my head.

No.

But I do have these horribly written scripts which attempt to center the text. The fact that people notice the text is off center might prove that I've done a poor job. But you can try them.

They only work on a single selected text object. If you have multiple text objects selected it only attempts to center the first one and fails because it creates a raster selection based on the selected vectors. If you have any other vectors selected it'll mess everything up. These are not made to be smart.
