Has anyone used those? I have one that should hold 8.5 gigs. Not sure if I should try it. I have a 2 hour interview I want to burn and it will not fit on a regular DVD.
I wonder if there is another setting that would reduce the size some without degrading the quality much.
Thanks in advance.

By the way what is your given name, you don’t have to provide it but Daddog is a bit of a tongue twister.
If you render your video to Mpeg 2 using Digital Dolby and a video bit rate of 4000 it should be small enough to fit to a standard DVD. 4000kbps is similar to VHS quality.
(for 90 minutes use 6000kbps)
By the way 2 hours of interview is quite a marathon……………….
Your render file properties will be similar to ………….
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
MPEG files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 29.97 fps
Lower Field First (as your original is Dv.Avi—I think??)
(DVD-NTSC), 16:9 or 4:3 as original????
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 4000 kbps)
Audio data rate: 256 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio, 48 KHz, 2/0(L,R)
Dual Layer
I have just started using these types, I have had 50% success, which is a lot of failures.
That doesn’t really help when you have the one disc.
Thank you sir. You have been a huge help. I will probably skip the duel layer idea.
You can refer/reply to me as dd short for daddog or my given name James which I can put in my sig. Most other forums I frequent over the years call me dd or James.

I have been using DL discs for a while now for some projects and have found a new burner coupled with the latests discs and latest software do a pretty good job of compiling a working disc. I haven't had a failure for some time. Then again, I burn probably 1,000 SL to 1 DL disc for my clients
