I've been using DVD MovieFactory Pro 7 on my PC since November. I have Windows 7 Home Premium with service pack 1 installed. I also have installed service pack 1 & 2 for DVDMFP7.
I use the software to make photo slide shows with my own photos & music from my iTunes.
The first few times I used it, I had no issues. Now it seems as though it never works. When I'm adding text to my slides (captions) and I go out to save I almost always get an error that shuts itself down on me.
I finally got around that and now the software absolutely REFUSES to burn my DVD for me. I have been working on this one 28 minute long 1.78 mb DVD for over two weeks. A friend of mine is having a centennial celebration for her husband's business on 5/7/2011 and needs to be able to show this DVD at her event.
PLEASE HELP ME!

Re: DVD will not burn
Welcome to the forums Niki,
Do you have any other DVD authoring programs installed? If so it might be possible there is a conflict occurring, with them. DVDMF 7 has a small utility Quick-Drop, that allows you to drag-n-drop files you're wanting to back up to disc. With some DVD authoring programs, these utilities can hold your burner hostage, refusing to allow any other programs access. Nero and Roxio used to be the most notorious for this.
I know SP-2 is suppose to make the program compatible with Win7. Do you have Compatibility Mode in your version of Win7? If so try running DVDMF 7 under WinXP. Short of that, the quickest solution would be to re-install. If you choose to re-install, make sure you save your project somewhere that is not under the Program Files folder for MF7. Also install SP-1 & SP2 in that order.
You sure haven't allowed much wiggle room to figure this out. Especially this being a "holiday" weekend of sorts.. Hope you get your DVD completed in time.. Happy Mom's day..

I am having exactly same problem. Downloaded the current DMF7 for EX# v 15.0.0.498. Have a short video in mpg format. Always gives message cannot burn. Dell have replaced the burner (pc is only 9 months old). Saw a post that Roxio may be causing a problem. Help please. Elizabeth

Re: DVD will not burn
I uninstalled Roxio - cleaned pc using windows washer and rebooted. Still will not burn. Error message say..a generic error has occurred. make sure burner is ready and try again. I am getting tired of this. Would a mac be better?

Re: DVD will not burn
I am confused by this version number. As far as I am aware, MF 7's version number should start with a '7'... What name appears when you get the splash screen as the program starts up?Downloaded the current DMF7 for EX# v 15.0.0.498

Re: DVD will not burn
DVD Movie Factory 7E. a Corel support guy gave me the link to download MF, and this is the version # on the download. ALSO, on W7 forum, someone suggested using a free program called DVD Flick in response to folk who were having a problem with the Windows DVD maker (as I was also - could burn a disk but it would not play). DVD Flick is great and works fine!

Re: DVD will not burn
If the problem started after updating to Windows 7 Home Premium with service pack 1, then you can try reinstalling the program by following these steps "http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... -Factory-7 "
Then just re-download the installer from the link that was given to you.

Re: DVD will not burn
Thanks. The only reason we bought VS Pro X3 was that it was W7 compliant. Pro X2 on the old XP worked fine. Your link to instructions to manually remove DVD Factory do not mention W7, which is very unhelpful. My husband found some bits of the instructions in the files, but we did not do much. Far too complicated. We have ditched M Factory, and are using DVD Flick to burn dvds, which works very well and the price is right. Thanks.

Re: DVD will not burn
Nothing wrong with using another DVD authoring program, most of us do. DVD Flick seems to be a very straight forward, easy to use program. Hope it serves you well..
