New to VS9 - Question re project previewing

Post by sahlsari »

Hello!

I'm not sure whether there's something wrong with the program or if I'm just not doing something right, but I just started a video project last night, which combines still images with avi and mpeg files (I think). The first 4-5 times I preview the project (after making edits in between each previewing), the clips run just fine with sound and image. However, later on when I preview the project again, the video files don't seem to play properly. It'll play the audio portion but it doesn't play the images/video portion along with it. It plays the still images just fine along with the audio, but it'll skip the video slide again.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Am I doing something wrong? Do I even make any sense here? Hope so...

Any help would be much appreciated!! THANK YOU!! :)

So, I then shut down the program and sometimes even restart or completely shutdown my computer, and restart everything again. Then, when I play/preview the entire project, the images are back.

This shouldn't be happening! I shouldn't have to restart/shutdown every time. I need to create a video in two weeks!!

Help please, anyone?! Thanks!!!

Your symptoms seem a bit like the memory leak bug that we thought was fixed. Open the task manager and monitor the memory usage. Note especially if VS9 acquires more memory than you have installed. VS used to slow down and begin stuttering at that point.

I assume that you have already preped your computer with DMA enabled on your hard drive, defragged the disk, page memory set at your installed memory size, write caching disabled, etc.

If you have example of a memory leak, notify Ulead tech support.

Can you post your system specs? How much RAM do you have?

256 MB of RAM
2.66 GHz
Pentium 4
Windows XP

Too low on memory/space? Sorry, I'm just sort of learning all this...if
I were to delete all my music/video/picture files, would this noticeably help at all? My hard drive is currently about half full.

THANKS very much for both your responses!!
