I realy like MF6+ but I am not inclined to buy another one.
And you don't need to. As has been said here several times, MF6+ can be installed to W7 Home Premium without any problems at all. Installs easily and works just fine. I have W7 HP and used the normal installation procedure and it works. If you can't get it to work then you likely have a PEBCAK error.

Further, there is no reason at all (that I've been able to determine anyway) to embrace MF7 in favor of MF6+. AFAICT MF7 is simply a cosmetic update to change a few things to say "Corel" instead of "Ulead". Try your install from scratch again, and follow all instructions carefully. Good luck.

Dear Maxblack,
My computer just doesn't acknowledge the MF6 disc is in the drive, yet it recognizes all other discs.
My apologies for my ignorance, but what is a PEBCAK error?
Cheers

Abiel Corel NA wrote:If you want to perform a clean reinstallation of DVDMF 6 or 6 plus, then just follow the steps that Ron posted above and just reinstall using your disc or redownload it from your corel.com account.

You can also follow this steps to manually remove the program: http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... eFactory-6

If you happen to have a damaged disc or it's not working anymore, you can try and call corel customer support and see if they can STILL provide you with a replacement disc.
Abiel: I did as your link say, then I cleaned my registry, shut off the computer, then I installed the hot fix first, then the DVDMF6 Full HD. When I was installing the DVDMF6 Full HD an error showed up, error number: 0x80040707, I closed th window and then the SDKControl install wizard pop up, I started to install it but at the end the same error windows appeared, I tried twice the I cancel the instalation. At the end the DVDMF6 Full HD ask me to restart and I clicked Ok.

Computer reestarted, then I install my DVDMF6 Full HD Bonus and the InterVideo DVD 8 was installed, but at the end the same windows error poped up.

I haven't try it yet, just want to know: what is the SDKControl? Can I install it manually?

I wil try it today, evening

Dear Ron, Abiel, Ken, Maxblack and others.
I had advice from another forum to copy MF6 onto a USB stick on another computer, then download onto my new computer from there.
Which I did and it is now loaded, although I haven't tried using as yet. This effectively bypassed using the disc drive. So problem solved.
However I have no answer as to why the disc drive still works, copies, loads etc but won't recognize the MF6 disc. But at least I have it loaded.
Thanks for all your advice and help.
Regards
Harry

Ron P. wrote:Welcome to the forums,

I don't know how you would accidentally delete files needed to run the program, but once you do, you pretty well messed things up. Programs install files everywhere on a computer. Waaayyy back when it was MS Windows 3.0 it was no big deal, as a program was in a folder, everything it needed, so you simply could delete the folder and that took care of uninstalling, not today.

Corel's method, which you've used some of already..
000004256 - Manually uninstalling DVD Movie Factory 6 under Vista

Print

Please try this to fix crashing problems:

First uninstall DVD Movie Factory 6 by going to Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs;

Delete the following folders: C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6.0 ,
C:\Users\All Users\Appdata\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory\6.0 ,
C:\Users\<<Username>>\Appdata\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory\6.0 ,
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD;

If you can't find any of these folders, go to Organise | Folder and Search Options | View
Choose the option "Show all files and folders"

1. Go to Start | Run
2. Type msconfig and click on OK
3. Go to Services and click on "Hide all Microsoft Services" and then on "Disable all"
4. Go to Startup and click on "Disable all"
5. Click on OK and restart the computer
6. Install DVD Movie Factory 6/Plus and all updates
7. Go to Start | Run
8. Type msconfig and click on OK
9. Choose "Normal Startup" and click on OK
You might also try running a registry cleaning program, however I will urge extreme caution when using one, as it can render your system unuseable.
Hi Ron !

I did as you advised, had a few troubles but finally it worked. But after I burned two disk it stopped, an error mesage poped up "Unspecified Error". I reinstalled it 4 time, last time yesterday, it works even better than before, but I still can't burn nothing, the message error still poping up.

Any idea?

I did it and it worked, I burned 2 DVD, but then I had to reinstall my OS and reinstalled from zero but now it started to show a message "unspecified error". I followed your procedures several time, it works even better because I never could make a menu because it didn't worked well, but now I can make menu but when it is time to burn the message "unspecified error" pops up. What can I do?

Ok. It's working and this is what I did. I reinstalled it as it is instructed in Abiel's link, but rebooted as Ron sugested. Then I cleaned the registry with CCleaner. Tried to burn a DVD and it didn't work. I left it for couple of weeks, I was upset, but then I installed it in my job's computer and it worked so I start to ask to myself what I did different and the difference was the disk I used in my Job's computer, I tried in my computer at home with the same brand and kind of disk and ... IT WORKS!!!!

I didn't know, but it seems there're DVD for data and DVD for movies, at least here in Nicaragua. The disks I used before were new and I could burn data in them.

I burned three disks and DVD MF6 is working better than ever.
