Hi
I'm using DMF 4.0 disk creator
when I try to creat a DVD+VR movie from a 700 MB AVI file
I'm requested to have about 4 GB hard disk space (which I don't have).
is this a reasonable ratio of size ?
thanks
Copnverting a 700 NB AVI I require for 4 GB hard disk space
let me guess -- your 700mb video is either DivX or Xvid?
How many minutes is the video? You can calculate the space requirements based on the running time of your video using a bitrate calculator like this one:
http://www.videohelp.com/calc.htm
You plug in your length of the movie, pick an audio bitrate, and the calculator will give you a constant bitrate (or average variable bitrate) based on a dvd5 disc. You can also change the size of disc, and add multiple audio tracks using the "Advanced" button
The 4gb quote from MovieFactory is probably based on the current template you have selected in your project.

yes, my file is an Xvid and it is 1 hour and 40 minutes
but still now that I know this, how can I reduce the requested hard disk space (I have only 1 GB free space)
with MDF 3 that I used before, the requirements for such a file were for about 10 MB
what did they change and what should I change in my settings ?
