PI Explorer slideshow

Post by mukiduk »

I am trying to embed music into a slideshow and the necessary tab seems to be inactive. I have made the show but the music tabs seem to be tucked up underneath and the 'add' button is inactive.
All the pictures are still showing at the top of the page even though I have dragged them down to the bottom and I cannot access the music folder on my computer unless I use the back button on the menu bar and try to drag a piece down but then it does not play when I click the play button on the right hand side.

I think the page is set up wrong but I cannot find where to alter it. Clicking on 'slideshow options
will only allow me to set up transition and duration etc., there is no provision there to embed sound and most of the items that show under 'tools' are greyed out.

Also the slideshow runs very slowly even though I have set the druation at 1 sec.

Hope someone can tell me what I am doing wrong.

Welcome to the forums, :)

What version are you using? I only have PhotoExplorer 8.6, and have not found this tab your referring to.

I am using version 8.5. When you click on 'slide show' in the menu bar, it opens up another part down the bottom where you drag the photos to. It has the plus button that is supposed to be used to insert all the pictures you want to use but then when it shows the pictures, the music bar dissappears.

When I have the pictures showing, it says there are 128 pictures but there are only 70 pictures in the folder. Then the only way I can find any music is to go up one level until I get to the music folder, but I cannot find any way to embed the music file.

I think that when I start off, I do not have the correct interface but I do not know how to alter it. It must be some settings in Preferences but I am not sure which ones. Please help.

Try updating to PEX 8.6 this was the last version that came with PI12. There was no PEX at all with PIX3.

I have Win7 64 bit and use PI12 and PEX 8.6 and they run very well.

If you have PhotoImpact X2 then you should have PEX 8.6.

To answer your question on the slideshow, there could be a compatibility issue or memory. It's difficult to say without seeing.

I can't add audio to my slideshow because I don't have the right codec.
