Plug-in for AC3 for VS-7SE??

Post by arrowheadbob »

Does anyone know if a plug in exists and how to install it? Ulead told me it was not available thru them. Any help would be appreciated. I need it for Capture on some video that has Dolby sound. Even if I could just get plain old stereo or even mono, I would be happy. Right now, I get great video, but no sound.
Thanks in advance.

Ulead didn't introduce an AC-3 Plugin until version 8, so I doubt that one exists for version 7.

If you upgrade to version 9, it has AC-3 support built in.

What I was hoping was that there was a third party plug in. I remember seeing some in old posts.
thanks

Another option would be to download VirtualDub and AC3 DirectShow Filter, and use those tools to capture / create an AVI file that you can then edit in UVS.

I have already downloaded the AC3 filter you mention and I placed it in my VS7 directory and stomped on it. No luck. On an old post, I saw the note to modify the UVS.INI file, but I could not find it anywhere. Does that filter not work directly on VS7?
Thanks to all.

No, it probably doesn't. The INI file settings you are referring to where to fool UVS 8 into thinking that the Ulead AC3 plugin was installed, and UVS 7 doesn't look for those settings at all because it had no AC3 plugin support -- I'd try the VirtualDub route, or upgrade to UVS 9.
