Video Studio Trial and MicroMV

Post by graham.hoyle@btinternet.c »

Hi,

I`m one of those unfortunate souls (fools) who purchased a Sony MicroMV camera (DRC-IP7) a couple of years ago. Naturally I tried all the available editing packages available at the time before giving up and finding a new hobby.

I though it might be fun to see what`s changed, so I`ve downloaded the trial of VideoStudio9 but get the following error message when trying to capture from the camera.

This is the message when using the "Movie Wizard" option:

"Capture Module initialization failed"
"failed to build a preview graph"

When using the "VideoStudio editor" option it`s just:
"failed to build a preview graph"

the camera transport controls DO work OK though there is no picture in the preview window.

The camera is "visible" and works as well as it ever did in VideoStudio7 and PinnacleStudio8.

Anyone have any Ideas before I get the potters wheel back out?

WindowsXP SP2
DirectX (latest)
AthlonXP 3200+
1 Gb ram
Nvidia gf5900

Have you tried bypassing the Movie Wizard, selecting the MicroMV capture plugin, and capturing manually? Do you have DirectX 9.0 or later installed?

Ok then..... Back to throwing pots.

I`ll check again in another couple of years.
