Hi Folks,
I've managed to create a logo with a completely transparent background,(saved as a .pspimage),and have my picture,(.jpeg) now all I need to know is exactly how to combine the 2.
I can open my picture in PSP,and create a selection rectangle where I'd like to place the logo, but haven't a clue how to get the logo onto the picture in any way, shape or form using PSP.It seems I can either have the picture open OR the logo, but never the twain shall meet.
In Irfanview,my editor of choice,it's so simple, and can be done with a couple of clicks, but of course I can't use a transparent background with that.
Any help would be much appreciated,as this is the only potential use I currently have for PSP.

Re: Placing clear background logo onto image
Open both pictures. Make Logo active by clicking on blue bar at top. Copy (CTRL+C) Logo picture. Make other picture active. Paste as new layer (CTRL+L). Use move tool (M) to place logo in desired position. You can then merge layers if desired.

Re: Placing clear background logo onto image
For a less flexible more permanent method you could also use the Visible Watermark option to use any image (PSPImage included) as a watermark with various settings. I never liked this dialog as it's not overly visual for placement. But it is a method.

Re: Placing clear background logo onto image
I'd like to give genuine thanks to both for your help & guidance, but unfortunately there's still no way I can place the logo on the original picture,it simply doesn't appear, despite following your instructions to the letter.
I'll live with having logos with a coloured or B/W background,as they're only for stuff that sits unused on my shelves 99.9% of the time, and when they are used,it's usually in the dark anyway...hahaha.
The kids can have a play with PSP on their PC's,I'm now back in much more comfortable territory with Irfanview, where the job can always be done in 20 seconds with 3 or 4 clicks.
Thanks again folks,I'm well aware PSP can produce stunning results,so I'm not dissing the software in any way,it just isn't for me,as I don't have the time or inclination for any steep learning curves these days.

Re: Placing clear background logo onto image
I find it hard to believe that you followed to the letter and couldn't get it to show up. Either we didn't explain it correctly or you missed something.
There are other options. For example saving as a PNG with transparency and the using that.
If you can give me a good example of the logo, is it a single layer?
How is your PSP set-up?
I can offer you a basic tutorial, in print or an actual video, if I know your circumstances to give you the best. There are a lot of things that Ifranview does very well, but I this can easily be done in 3 or four clicks as well as can many things in PSP. The big thing is not a learning-curve but adjusting your thoughts.
If you truly don't want to continue then sorry I couldn't be of any help. But if you're at all interested I can try to give you more personalized materials to learn from.
