Snow in FX?

Post by daddog »

In VS X4 I see the clouds, rain, lightning, but did not see an option for snow in FX. Anyone know how to do that or where I could download one? :)
After the search I had several hits, but most from years ago in older versions.

As always thanks in advance. :)

Did you try using the Flash MotionF17 or MotionF19 as these are snow flakes.
You could place these in and Overlay track instead of an FX.

Cheers

If you play with the settings for the Rain filter you can get snow. You need to adjust the length and width, so that it is not linear. Then start working the other settings. The filter is keyframeable, so you will need to go to the last keyframe to adjust the parameters there.

Thank you Pat.

I will try the rain filter since I don't know anything about Flash. :)

Thank you both. :)

What Pat was pointing out that there are 2 samples found in the Flash Animation Library of VS. They are SWF files, you just drag-n-drop them onto an overlay track. They are 32 bit, meaning they have transparency. You find them by clicking on the Graphic icon (flower looking), the Color library opens. Press the drop-down menu, select Flash Animation. Locate MotionF17 and MotionF19, they're both SWF files, of animated snowflakes.
