importing video MOV files from my Canon 60d DSLR

My Canon 60d DSLR also records HD video, as well as take photos. I believe it uses the MOV format.

Is it possible to upload or import these MOV files into VideoStudio (I think I have VS Pro x3, not x4)? Or is there a conversion I have to do first? And if so, how do I do this and into what format?

And if I can import MOV files directly into VS, would it be good to do a 'save as' and convert them to another format before working with them, and if so, what format would that be.

(To clarify, my question here is not about how to get them into VS, but will they open, can I work with them in VS?)
