I have Windows 7 with the X3 version.I also have the Adobe Prem 7. No problems on my on my laptop which is about a year old. On my 5 yr old desktop there are some issues with the Diorect X . Here is the problem >>>The movie factory wants to load every time I start either movie edit software. Then I will get a error message about the Direct X. I have completely uninstalled the Corel using the Revo uninstaller which gets down to the registry .
I want to use the Corel as I like the editing & some other features. Can I reload with out the Factory ???
Thanks in Advance

Re: Remove Movie Factory
Russ,
Are you using DVD MovieFactory 7SE, DVD MovieFactory 7 Pro, or DVD Factory 2010 ? The latter is what's included and is the default authoring application with VS X3. DVD MovieFactory 7SE is the freebie replacement to DVD Factory 2010.
DVD MovieFactory 7 Pro, is more of a suite type application. One part of that suite, Quick Drop 3.0, is a drag-n-drop DVD burning utility. It is installed and active by default when you install DVD MF7 Pro. Check to see that this is not running. It will have an icon in the system tray, which you can right-click on. In the menu, select Preferences, then clear the checkbox beside Auto load when windows starts. Also select the Exit option to close it.
You might also check the Startup tab in Windows Configuration. Press the Start button, Run, then type in msconfig. Go to the Startup tab, and scroll down to see if CorelIOMonitor, and uvPL are selected. If so uncheck them, they're basically useless. They are meant to help the programs launch a little faster. You might also see the Quick Drop listed, however once you have set it to not load in the Preferences it should not be shown as selected here.
