Before I install X4 over X3...

Post by daddog »

I purchased and downloaded the upgrade from X3 to X4 last night, but have not installed it yet.

I make a yearbook DVD for my school every year. I have made several clips (about 10 hours of work so far) in X3 toward the year book. I am wondering if I install X4, will those be lost? If so is there anyway I can retain them and import them into X4 or if there are any specific steps I should take to safeguard those clips I have completed?

Thanks in advance. :)

Hi

There should be no problem in installing X4 with X3 already installed.

Your X3 projects will open using X4.

Your personal video files will not be affected by installing X4

Most of us run several versions of Video Studio without problems.

Just to make sure you understand, VS does not install over previous versions. Each version is a complete stand-alone program. On my desktop I have 6 versions of VS installed.
