sound "burping"

Post by dogbrain »

Hi Folks,

This problem happens whether or not I have a single clip or multiple clips, but it has really become a problem as I now have to work with slicing and dicing multiple clips into single video.

The problem I have is that I cannot get realistic sound unless I select a clip in the timeline or storyboard view.

What happens is that I get a "sample" of the sound - perhaps 20% of the sound in periodic burps as the clip is played in the preview pane.

If I try to select multiple clips, or no clips at all I get I still get sound burping.

What am I doing wrong? :?:

Thanks

I don't know... you don't say what type of clips you're talking about? Please include in your post(s), the properties of your video clips, project settings. You may have at another time posted this information, but we shouldn't have to track down prior posts to see if you might be referring to the same.

Hi

What are you doing wrong, well your not giving enough information in your post.

What version of Video Studio are you using?
What are the properties of the video files?

Reading the post at the top of this forum, titled Please Read This Before Posting will give you some idea of what we need, basically everything you know.

Ok

I did have problems with Video Studio X3 and Mov clips. There are many types of Mov but this occurred with all types I had.

The audio played intermittently, one poster described it like a “heart beat”.
Not a lot of users suffered, so difficult to find a fix.

The solution was to re-install X3 but not to apply the patch, which the program constantly nags you to do.

Sorry Trevor,

I am using X3 13.6.2.69 no updates available with Canon created MOV/THM (video H264, audio Linear PCM) files . System specs are in my profile.

I can take a single clip and successfully create mp4 movies, but editing multiple clips in particular is a pain right now because of this sound burping.

With a single clip, I still have to select the clip to avoid sound burps.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi

As I said in my reply, if it’s the same issue, uninstall X3 and re-install.
Do not apply patches, (service pack 2) try your Mov clips, then install the patch, but you may have to re-install.
As i said it doesn't affect all users, it would be good if you can confirm that running without the patch cures the problem.

If you are not seeing any updates available then they are already installed.

I have gone through the installation process a few times and each time I install the patch I have problems. X3 version 13.6.2.36.
All types of Mov are affected even ones created with VS.
I have tried running various versions of Quick Time, using 7.5.5 at the moment

I have to say though the original patch did not cause any problems, Corel updated the patch using the same name, since then I have had problems.
Now I am using X4 so X3 isn’t an issue.

I will be absent from the forum for a few days so if I don’t reply I’m not ignoring you.

Good luck

Hi

Just a glutton for punishment, once again I installed the patch.

The first image shows the wave form in clip mode then project playback.

The video shows just what I am hearing.
The sound is not great, just an aeroplane flying overhead but is a good example.
