Earlier QuickTime Player Versions
Since it's been a re-occurring problem with VS and the latest version of QuickTime Player, I'm providing this sticky post with a link to Apple's webpage, where you can download earlier versions.

Re: Earlier QuickTime Player Versions
Use the latest version, 7.6.9. If that causes problems, then work backwards through earlier versions.
(I have a new video camera which requires Quicktime 7.6.6 or greater to play back the files).

Re: Earlier QuickTime Player Versions
Your answer may be correct, but the solution to backgrade to previous versions in order to get something to work correctly is ludicrous.
If their latest updates do not accomodate and resolve previous faulty issues, then what good is it?
It's absolute BS and laziness on their part!
This entire industry seems to be working that way. Sell a product first without testing it, then let users find and report issues that developers were too lame and lazy to notice in the first place! FREE BETA TESTING FOR THOSE LAMER DEVELOPERS AND COMPANIES! It's all market share.... not customer satisfaction!
If they can't do it right the first time, then they should not release it and sell it as a PRODUCT! It's not a legitimate product if it has obivious, inherent flaws which should never be there! It's THEIR responsibility to evalutate and FIX THE DAMNED THING BEFORE it's released. They only want free labor from unpaid beta testers. Crock of nonsense, to me.

Pfshh!!! Even if you're a beta tester they still tell you that it's your system and not them.Old_Friend wrote:Your answer may be correct, but the solution to backgrade to previous versions in order to get something to work correctly is ludicrous.

Re: Earlier QuickTime Player Versions
The issue with Apple format is simple. Apple cripples o purpose the QuickTime for Windows, keeps it at 32 bit, not releases patches for bugs (but just to add more "features"). Apple won't let anybody to develop another plug-in.
Corel doesn't have a choice, they have to use the Apple plug-in, as is.
All in all... I personally avoid any video product that uses exclusively .MOV as file format. Unless you are working on a Mac, you will always have problems.
PS: On Mac, QuickTime is at version 10 (QuickTime X).

Hmmm... I have to confess I had never been aware of the limitation of QT to 32 bit before, but on checking, I see that you are right... and I have actually bought the Pro version. And on checking the QT website, I can also find no reference to a 64 bit version... http://store.apple.com/nz/product/D3381 ... or-windows

Thanks. I see it now that you replied to this post. Now I don't see the entire thread. The earliest post I see is from Sonic. It says 5 posts, page 1 of 1 in the upper right corner

It is because in your profile preferences you have selected to not show posts older than one year - or topics older than 6 months - if you wish to see earlier posts you need to change your preferences in your profile
The true post count in this topic is now 12
