I have recently purchased, and have been using, Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 - and have used Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo for years. I am looking for a recommendation for new computer hardware to purchase as my current computer is 5 years old and my graphic/video work is hindered by the speed & ability of my current hardware setup. Does anyone have specific recommendations? I do not want to just buy any new computer, only to find out I have compatibility issues, or to discover I would have been better served going another direction. I am used to the PC/Windows environment.
Any help here is greatly appreciated - Motherboard, processor, video card, sound card, etc...
Thanks!

Re: Computer recommendations specifically for Corel Product
I would hate to try and pick a PC from what is offered online and in the newspaper ads I see daily.
I always build my own PC's that way I get the best of all equipment that I want and typically for a lot less than buying it bundled together with a bunch of junk software.
Putting together a PC is a lot easier than most think.
I mainly buy my stuff all through www.newegg.com as they have excellent CS and they will replace just about any item if is broke.
Also they have good forums that are very helpful for those building their first PC.
Not to mention the great deal of satisfaction you get when you boot for the first time and load the OS (provided you plugged in everything right).
My PC specs are to the right of this post and I have no issues at all running VideoStudio X4 and Photoshop CS3 (which is a little more intense that Paint Shop Pro) all on WIN 7 64bit which is currently on sale at Newegg for $89 and free shipping.
Cheers

Re: Computer recommendations specifically for Corel Product
I recently bought a gaming PC from ibuypower.com for my video editing. I figured that anything that can run the latest video games should be able to do a great job of video creation. IBuyPower can custom build, or you can select pre-built. My specs are located to the right in my profile description.
As a side note, my system disk is an SSD. In retrospect the money would have been better spent on mirrored 1TB SATA3 disks. Also, if buying SSD for the system, make sure you get at least 60gb. Windows 7 takes a lot more space than XP.

Re: Computer recommendations specifically for Corel Product
Tinybeetle that's a nice motherboard you have there.
I had been looking at that Gigabyte but have decided to put off buying hardware for a bit because the new AMD3+ (BD or Bulldozer) processor is about to release. Supposedly this month.
I want one of the new MOBO's that will support the new processor even if I don't get it straight away and I can put my older Quad 955 on it till I save up for the new BD. Now I need to start mowing more lawns to help pay for all this.
