videostudio x4 dvd burner not recognized
I am using the trial version of vx4. All is ok until I go to the create dvd page. The burner drive has no device listed. Create to disc is shaded out. I am able to burn discs with other programs. Any tips.

You don't say where you are located but do you by chance use a USB dongle for your internet connection?

What does how his Internet is connected have to do with his burner being recognized?

I Googled the problem and found that it was quite widespread amongst Vista users which the OP is. One solution that worked for a number of people was as follows;
I thought it might be worth a try but if you think not I will happily remove the post!Quote from a Forum; Re: [Another Video Editor] will not recognize my DVD burner
Answer= I picked the easiest option first and removed my broadband pre-paid USB key and hey presto the burner was back.

I tried removing the USB for Internet but that did not work. Thank you anyway.

Perhaps it may help us solve the problem if we knew the properties of the video which you are importing to the burn module - is it a DVD compatible format - also do you use the 'Preview' function in the burn module - I have noticed that if I go straight from the preview to the burn page sometimes all the functions in there are not available and I sometimes have to go 'back' from preview and then 'next' to the burn page.
