Ken,
Hello. Do you know why I cannot render a frame-based video when selecting (Share/Custom/MPEG Transport-stream)? My goal is to create an AVCHD video and burn it to a DVD (4.7G). My video is 16min long and the calculated bitrate is around CBR 15,000 kbps. If I use the (Share/ADVCHD/1920) option, I don't have any control over the settings. I have already deinterlaced my video using Neoscene. That is why I want to create a frame-based video. Am I missing something? Below is my workflow.
Two video sources:
.mov(1080p) from ContourHD 1080p camea
.mts(1080i) from Canon Vixia HF S100
1. Trim .mts files in CSV PX3
2. Trim .mov files in Contour S/W
3. Convert trimmed clips to .avi with Cineform Neoscene
4. Edit in CSV PX3
5. Planned to render in AVCHD, 1920x1080p, 29.97 fps, 15000 kbps
Thanks for any help.
Jerry

Re: I cannot render a frame-based video
I split your post off to it's own topic, as it had nothing to do with the topic you posted it under, which is known as hi-jacking a topic.

Ron,
Sorry about the hijacking. It was not intended. I thought there were similarities. Thanks for setting me straight.

Re: I cannot render a frame-based video
All I can say is the VS X4 cannot produce a true progressive/frame based AVCHD in any frame size apart from 1280 x 720p. The reason given by Corel is that the international standard has not yet been changed to reflect the reality that there are now increasing numbers of consumer-level cameras out there which film using full progressive mode and a frame format of 1920 x 1080.
The only way we have found to produce a 1920 x 1080 50/60 fps video is to make a Custom template using .avi as the format rather than mpeg transport stream. You then have to use one of the listed codecs under .avi in the Make Movie Template Manager, such as XVid, Microsoft Video 1, or in my own case codecs which I have on my computer such as ffdshow or Matrox codecs which nevertheless are seen and used by VS.
However, the catch of course is that you can't burn a true progressive AVCHD disc with such an .avi file. Some Blu-Ray players may nevertheless be able to play it from, say, a USB stick drive or external hard drive...

Re: I cannot render a frame-based video
Ken,
Thanks for the insight. I think AVCHD 1920 render will work for me.
