Hi,
I was using Ulead VideoStudio SE and 12.0 without any issues but ever since I tried a trial version of X3 or X4 I'm unable to render videos properly with SE and 12.0 using SmartRender. What happens is after 8 minutes, the sound of the video stops and when the sound comes back on, the frames start freezing. This issue occurred before and I removed the trial versions and reinstalled all my drivers, etc. to fix the problem. But now I tried doing the same thing and it's not working. I even tried to cleanup everything of Ulead and Corel on my system, but the render issue still occurs.
Please advise what I should do. I even tried updating DirectX, but it didn't help. What other stuff does X3 and X4 add to the system which I should remove?
Thanks.

Re: SmartRender causing audio latency and freezes
Welcome to Corel User Forum!
First, I can see that you have Windows 7, and VideoStudio SE and 12 is not fully compatible with Windows 7. You maybe able to install and run them, but we cannot guarantee the full compatibility of the program under Windows 7. You mentioned that you have already reinstall the programs, but have you installed the updates as well? Kindly download and install these updates for Corel VideoStudio Pro X2 then restart your computer afterwards:

Widows 7 patch

Hope this helps.

Re: SmartRender causing audio latency and freezes
Thanks for responding. Yes, i have removed them completely and yes i did install those updates but nothing helped. As mentioned, i didnt have any issues until i installed the trial of the new version.
Also important to note that it happens on mpeg2 videos that are longer than 3 min.

Re: SmartRender causing audio latency and freezes
Hi there,
It appears there something to do with the Codecs. Since you are using an old version of Video Studio to a Windows 7 platform. I would suggest you update all your Codecs.
If you are using Windows 7, you can download the updates from these following links:
Real Player: http://www.real.com
QuickTime: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Re: SmartRender causing audio latency and freezes
Thanks once again.
It seems like the problem has gone away. I uninstalled all the Visual C++ redistributions and wiped out Quicktime, Windows Media Encoder, etc. and installed X2 again.
I hope future releases of VideoStudio will fix such issues.
