PSPX2 crashes upon start up
I have PSPX2 and around the time my windows updates were installed last time it began crashing upon start up. I have reinstalled several times and when I install it opens fine the first time, but after it is shut down it will not open again and crashes upon start up all over again. I installed the last update for it today when I reinstalled and it did not help. It crashed again. I checked my event log and got the following information. Can anyone help with this issue.

Re: PSPX2 crashes upon start up
I have done both of these things. Still no luck. I noticed today when I reinstalled again that it opened fine 2 times in a row and then it wanted me to do an update. After the update it began crashing again.

Re: PSPX2 crashes upon start up
Hi Stacey,
You indicated on your info that you are using 64bit, is this Vista or Windows 7? Because Paint Shop Photo Pro X2 is not fully compatible with Windows 7.
Regards,
Reste

Stacey indicates in her profile that she is using Vista - is there any reason why you doubt her Reste

Re: PSPX2 crashes upon start up
I know that Corel doesn't regard PSP X2 as being compatible with Windows 7 (although Microsoft does), but I've never seen any X2 problem that is actually the result of this claimed incompatibility. Certainly nothing as serious as crashing on every start.Reste Corel NA wrote:Hi Stacey,

Alternatively the initial release of PSP X3 was compatible with Windows 7, but would regularly crash in spite of that.
I think it would be more useful if we could help users to solve their problems, rather than dismiss all problems with older versions under Windows 7 as being the result of it not being compatible.
I'd like to ask you and all the other Corel people to stop posting that here unless it really is the cause of the users problem.

Re: PSPX2 crashes upon start up
It would be really helpful if Corel explained how X2 is incompatible with Win7, as LeviFiction suggests
