When that has happened to me in the past I was working on the "wrong" layer..... is that a possibility?

Interesting, I'm afraid though that the closest I've ever come to this problem is the brush and eraser tools would randomly turn into the pan tool. I had to hit space-bar to get the actual brush heads back.

Along with what pdxrjt suggested also make sure there are no selections on the image.

Make sure there's nothing selected. If you try to do something outside of the selection it will act as if it's just not even a possibility. I sometimes hide the selection marque, then forget that I have something selected. (How Levi knew I was going to suggest this is a mystery :D ).

Not if you realize that I'm terrible with names and have a tendency to not look twice at whom is posting. But at least it worked out. And I fixed my post. XD

Can you describe your setup?

When you create the image what are the settings? What are the brush settings? What materials are you using? Give us as much detail as you can. Since no one here seems to have even heard of these brushes simply "not working" it's very hard to pinpoint a problem. Otherwise contact Corel directly.

Also, humor me here, go to the file menu, go to "Workspace" and click on "Save" in that menu to save all of your current settings as a workspace.

Now close PSP and select the desktop icon for PSP. HOld shift as you double-click the icon and it should ask you if you want to reset your workspace to the default. Click yes. See if that helps.

If you don't have PSP set as a desktop icon then you can do this from the file menu. Go to the File menu and select Preferences -> Reset Preferences. In the dialog select "Reset workspace" and click OK.

See if resetting the workspace fixes your problem.

If it does you can spend a lot of time resetting PSP to the way you like or you can load that workspace I had you save. Just go to File->Workspace->Load and select the name that you saved your workspace as and it should reload all of your major settings like palette size and position stuff like that.

Hi!

Resetting the workspace should fix your problem. Just follow the steps Levifiction indicated on his reply. :)

Thank to LeviFiction my problem is solves..I printed out his instructions and believe me, will keep on hand for the future. I even had a man from Corel itself take over my machine, and he could not solve this.
I am so excited to be able to enjoy my new program... just can not express how great I feel, and how lucky to of found this group..

When I open a new image in PSP, the new transparent box I am working on size 300X300 pixels. It's supposed to have a Minimize-Maximize and Close option. Mine does not and no way to get it off my screen. So if I want to add a tube, text, or a new layer..it goes beind the one I am on at present time.. I have tabs to switch from one to the other.. I work with Corel PSP X3 and windows 7. I compared all my general preferences with a friend who has same addition of paint shop, and we both have exact settings.
I have used PSP sense their #3 addition..and never have had this problem.. Thank you for any advice.

@ alispecial

Can you give us a screenshot of the Full editor, when you have disabled the "Tabbed Documents" in the Window menu. I'm not sure about your problem. Thanks!
I work for the Corel UK Support. I will not give technical support through this forum and my answer is only related to this thread.

I had posted earlier of the problems I was having with PSP 3X, I went to type on the graphic I had taken to show my problem and then the program would not let me use text. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled, as of past two days it seems to be working correctly, but I sure am not uncrossing my fingers. Wanted to let you know, so you would not think I was not responding to your help. Thank you, Ali

I had a problem with my PSPX3 and before post anything look for a tip and found.
My problem was:
My PSPX3 wasn't letting me add text to my images. After try almost everything I look for an answer.
What solved my problem was:
Reset my PSPX3 to default.
Pressing the shift key and clicking twice over my desktop PSP icon works fine.

Post my difficulty only to try to help if anyone have the same issue.

Thanks
