I've searched but don't see this as a known problem. Perhaps my Search Fu is weak...
I'm seeing random occurrences of single all-red frames in my output. They seem to occur in the middle of a clip.
My clips are AVCHD (HDV captures from a Sony HDR-FX7 via Firewire using HDVSplit). I'm outputting them to "HDV 720p - 30p (for PC)". Total edited projects are 9-10 minutes each and I'm seeing 2-3 of these "red frames" per output file.
Has anyone else seen this?
Single red frames in 720p output?

Oops. I should mention that I'm using VS X4.

Re: Single red frames in 720p output?
What is your background color set to? If by chance it's red, what's happening is that VS is using that color at the end/beginning of fade-in/fade-out. With previous versions of VS you could not just apply a transition to the beginning or end of a clip. You needed to drop a color clip into the main video track, and/or overlap the clips.
I ran a short test, where I changed my background color to red, then added a cross-fade to the beginning and end of a clip. I then dropped a second clip into the main video track. I did not overlap the 2 clips. What I discovered is, between the two clips, the background color is picked up between them. So it's a fade to red, then fade into the 2nd clip. You might check to see if this is what's happening. If so, make sure your clips overlap for the cross fade, or whatever transition you apply, or perhaps change the background color to black.

As I stated: "They seem to occur in the middle of a clip."
I'm aware of the transition problems. This ain't that. BTW - My background color is set to black.
