Hi,
I was hoping that someone might be able to help me. I have got Photoimpact 12se to use for drawing, as well as photo editing. I have found the layers section, but have no idea how to create a new layer for drawing. Can someone help me please? Many thanks.

Re: Layers in photoimpact 12se
Welcome to the forums,
In PhotoImpact, you don't create layers then add objects to the layers. A layer is an object, so to create a new layer, create the object.

Thanks for replying Ron, much appreciated.
Is there no possible way of adding a layer manually? The method you describe works fine for photo editing, but I would like to add my own layers for drawing and thought there was a way to do this with Photoimpact?

Re: Layers in photoimpact 12se
No, if you for example draw a rectangle, it becomes a layer (object).

Re: Layers in photoimpact 12se
Thanks again Ron, that'll be why I can't find a 'new layer' button then!
That's saved me more searching, you've been really helpful, thanks.

Re: Layers in photoimpact 12se
This can be confusing because photoshop has such a prevalent command over the image editing software business. I'm sure that confusion over layers vs objects in photoimpact is not an uncommon issue. I am going to go ahead and consult with a new employee I just hired via IT staffing services and see if there is any way I can gain a little bit more clarity in to what the computing device is actually thinking here. This is a technical problem and I do not have a technical brain when it comes to IT stuff.
