Hello,
I am using corel paint shop x3 now at work. We had x2 and upgraded when this product came out. in x2 i was able to drag one picture onto another and it would create a new raster layer. I would do this to change the background of a photo. for example for an id card. I would load the persons picture, then drag the background i wanted into corel, it would create a new window, i then minimized both so i could see them both, then drad the picture onto the background and resize it. Then i would erase the parts of the picture to show the background image. in three i cant figure out how to do this. can you help??? thanks
paint shop x2 to paint shop x3 help!!

Re: paint shop x2 to paint shop x3 help!!
Not going to lie, I'm more of a fan of Ctrl + C and Ctrl + L (or V) to just copy the current image and then paste it as a new layer. I'm faster that way.
Inspite of that I do know of a way to drag and drop an image onto another as a new layer. The the only way I know to do the drag and drop is to drag the layer from the layers palette onto the new image.
So first you need to have the view set to window and not tabbed documents. If the images are set-up as tabs then you need to turn that off go to Window->tabbed documents.
You also need the layers palette visible, but I think you already have that.
Just go the layers palette and select the layer you want to copy to the new image and click and drag it onto the second image and it will create a new layer from there.

@nismomario
hi!
1. open the desired picture
2. open the second picture to be used as background of the desired picture
3. make a right click on the desired picure and click on copy 4. paste it as new layer on the picture that will be used as background 5. select background eraser tool and erase the part where you want the background to be seen 6. you should now be seeing the background of the picture
Please take a note that you need to consider the sizes of the selected pictures. It would matter when you paste and copy it.
thanks!

Thank you! I was tooling around and found the copy and paste to get me by. I will change my settings and see if that helps. Thanks again!!!

Amazing help!!!! Thanks, would you happen to know why only a few of my layers are printing out? When I look at the print preview it shows everything, when I print it only a few of the layers print. Thanks in advance.

Re: paint shop x2 to paint shop x3 help!!
Are you referring to actual image layers? Or text layers? Because text printing is a known bug that has not been fixed yet. I haven't experienced a problem with regular layers not printing though.
If there is a bug with layers in general then one quick fix would be to temporarily flatten the image into a single background layer (Layer->Merge All (Flatten) ) and print that and it will remove the problem. You can then undo the merge without any problems.....but save the PSPImage file first just to be sure.

I will try that. I think it's the vector layers are not printing
