Burn speed selection in VSpro X4
Has anyone else had problems in selecting the DVD recording speed in VideoStudio pro X4? I prefer to use a fairly low rate, but the selection is greyed out in my Create DVD window and it seems to be set permanently on maximum. I've tried a program re-install but it hasn't helped at all. Quayth

Hi Quayth
As far as I am aware this has been mentioned a few times with earlier versions of VS
I do not think there has been any fix or solution.
At least you know its not just your program.
I just ignore this option, I haven’t had any problems burning DVD’s

If burn speed is a concern for you, try creating either DVD folders or a disc image (.iso) file and use a separate program (Nero or similar) to burn your DVD's from these files. I almost always create a disc image rather than burn directly from VS (or in my case MovieFactory SE since I'm using X3).

I've been using the program since version 7, and from memory, VideoStudio Pro x3 and x4
have been the only ones with 'Create Disk' menus that have given me problems. In earlier
versions I was always able to select a burning speed multiplier, and the x2 ones always
took much longer than the max speed setting.
What I don't understand is why, if they've made only one burning speed available, do Corel
provide a drop-down selection box that has no purpose at all?

Re: Burn speed selection in VSpro X4
Thanks, Dave, for that suggestion; that's what I'll probably have to do. But my gripe at the moment is that Corel caused me the unnecessary aggro of a clean re-install, because they made it appear to be my fault that their software wouldn't perform like previous versions.david1939 wrote:If burn speed is a concern for you, try creating either DVD folders or a disc image (.iso) file and use a separate program (Nero or similar) to burn your DVD's from these files.
