This is an issue that is really pissing me off. I tried playing oblivion recently, and I got this error. It is entirely unusable, as the program immediately freezes upon opening. I see this, and I figure, OK, I'll just uninstall Corel Video Studio X4 and it will work again. Wrong! So then I try reinstalling Oblivion to see if that fixes the issue. It didn't. I download Corel Video Studio X4 again and see if that fixes the issue. Nope. I go to uninstall the Video Studio again and it says the files are corrupt and I can't. I try to launch the video studio, same error. I dig deep into my program files and delete any trace of Video Studio, and then try launching Oblivion. Still doesn't work. At some point, video studio broke and it affected a different, completely unrelated program! I'm not entirely sure, but I'm positive I did not see that in the ToS or EULA that this program has the right to break other programs. If this can be fixed, good, I'm all for it. But I payed for Oblivion, and for a free trial to completely render it useless is incredibly frustrating. The system restore option also doesn't go far back enough to the point before I installed the video studio, so that isn't an option.
I'm looking for someone to help me fix this.

Re: Corel Pro Video Studio X4 Broke Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivi
Welcome to the forums,
First thing to try to completely remove VS X4, is Corel's Clean-up utility. It is suppose to remove all traces of it, and should be done, after normally uninstalling it from Add/Remove Programs. It can be downloaded from VSX4_Cleanup.zip
I have no idea why your Oblivion is causing VS to launch. Is your VS X4 a purchased version or a trial?

Thank you for the timely response. I apologize for opening the thread with a bout of anger, but I hope you can understand that the situation I was in caused it. The download file you provided fixed it, albeit with no opening cinematic sound. But that appears to be the only area with an issue at the moment. As for what version of VS I was using, it was indeed the trial version. Thanks again.

Well I seem to be having the same problem and unfortunately cannot download the clean up tool. Asking for username and password and my registered name and password doesn't seem to be working :\
