chapters in CDF importing, editing

Post by brucefl »

Hello,

I finally have my project done. I click Share, then try to change the bitrate lower it says I am 2.5gigs over. When I change it nothing happens on the left side, it still stays the same.
Also it does not import my chapters that I have set in the editing mode?

I have saved it to a video file, in case it may be easier to do it that way? I have a difficult time finding it in the their programs liabrary.
X12 use to automatically import your chapters from the editing mode when they were set.

Either I am confused (which can be easy) or it is more diffucult to figure things out in X3.
Appreciate any assistance.

Hello brucefl,

Here's an article on how to burn your project in VideoStudio Pro X3 using DVD Movie Factory 7SE.

http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... actory-7SE

You can change the bitrate of the video when you click on the PROJECT SETTINGS icon that looks like a GEAR located at the lower left corner of the DMF 7 SE screen, then click on CHANGE MPEG Settings.. button then select CUSTOMIZE

Hi Bruce. Can you confirm exactly what you clicked *after* you clicked 'Share'. And also let us in on the secret of what 'it' was that said you were 2.5 GB over.

Even at it is best, any version of VS that had the facility could not really tackle reducing a project to fit on a single layer DVD very well, and certainly not if it was 2.5 GB over the size limit. It could handle a few hundred MB over but that was usually it. It is always much better -- especially in X3 and its curious burning procedures with two possible programs -- to click Share > Create Video File, and then choose an option which is going to produce a new file which will actually fit on a DVD. That means reducing the bitrate at that video file creation stage. And that in turn means that you probably have to choose Custom to change the bitrate there.

Hi,

Been playing around a little with it, because it seems to work quite a bit differently than previous versions. Normally in other versions when I clicked share I would be able to reduce the bitrate then.
When I click dvd factory it says space avail. 4.4 required 6.9 it has a settings chance for bitrate but it will not chance that 6.9 gig.
I find as you have said before to make a video file first, so I tried DVDMF7SE the first file I tried i could not reduce the bit rate, because the file was so large.

In playing around it, I find I have to chance the bit rate in DVDMF first in order for it to fit into the program

I am not sure in DVD factory if I can reduce it afterwards? When I click settings on the right and customize from 8000 to 4000, the numbers do not chance on the left side?
Even if I chane the bitrate to 4000 in the editing VSX13 first then share open DVD Factory and change it to 4000 in that setting it still says the project is too big.

Seems I can not use DVD Factory, but only DVDMF by reductin the bitrate first in VSX13, then save to video file, then open in DVDMF.
Shouldn't I be able to do this in DVD Factory?
Hope that is not too confusing.

Where have you been Bruce? Since the day it was released people have complained about DVD Factory. So much so that Corel gave us the free "upgrade" to DVD MovieFactory 7SE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH DVD FACTORY!

lol just muddling my way along as usual.
All I had was the one progam before X3, I would just click share and it would bring up the one program.
I was never had to pay much attention before, just used what was available.
I think I have most of it figured out lol, I had liked some of the templates I will have to see if I can import them to
the other program?
thanks Bruce
