What is best format for streaming AVCHD videos?
I have a canon 100HF VIXIA that produces AVCHD files. I have been having problems streaming edited videos (VSX3) to my Western Digital Live Plus media player and Samsung BD player...I get very choppy video and sometimes complete stops. My playstation 3 can handle these streams but not the other media players. What would be the best file format to render these videos (in HD)? Should I be outputing these as Blue Ray mpeg2 INSTEAD OF acvhd? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

It would help if you would provide your system information via the User Control Panel.

Welcome to the wonderful world of AVCHD streaming!! Rest assured you are not alone!!
Blu-Ray mpeg-2 should work, but so should HDV mpeg-2... I am assuming that you are talking about a hard wire connection to your PS3/media player. Wireless will work with these, but usually only when the player is pretty close to the computer. AVCHD streamed over wireless can often be jerky even in close proximity...

But is the streaming wireless or wired?

Wired....in fact the media players also have a usb connection that allows for a direct connection with a flash drive...I still have the problem with the jerky video if a plug a usb drive with the AVCHD file directly in to them..

Well I figured it out....the file itself appears to be corrupt...I created this by piecing together multiple m2ts files and saving the final project as an AVCHD file (AVCHD NTSC HD 1920)...I have another project that was handled in the same way and with the same results. A video that is jerky and stuttering...So I guess the problem was in the rendering...I had a few transitions that were processed but the engine skipped over the native avchd segments rather than re-rendering them...the final product however, is unwatchable

You still haven't given us your computer specs, so it is impossible to say whether it is up to the job of producing decent AVCHD. As you will be aware, that is the most demanding of consumer level video formats currently on the market and you need a pretty good computer to handle it. But if not, then you could use SmartProxy to produce it...
