Masking a Background in Pro X4?

Post by Trng_Chick »

Hi everyone,

Bit of a newbie trying to evaluate Pro X4 and see if it will meet my department's needs.

I'm trying to figure out how to apply the Mask & Chroma Key. I've dragged a Color into the timeline, and selected OPTIONS and then Mask & Chroma Key, but all I have now is a neon green glob on my screen that covers everything else (because that's the color I chose.)

So how do I blot out the background of a brief video clip?

And - for that matter - I'm trying to find some tutorials so I can try out features without continuing to bother everyone?

I'm hoping this turns out to be the tool for us, but at this point I can't telll...

Thanks!!!

Is it possible to apply a mask before the choma key filter? I would like to create a garbage matte to minimize the key background variations and get a better key. I am not fond of the way VS X4 does not supply the key as a separate filter for the stack.
