Trial Version x4

Post by clubmakerbob »

I've been working with the TBYB version off and on for a couple of weeks and am still discovering how little I really know about it as I try more things. Board has been much help and I need more. :D
I think, based on what I’ve gleaned from the forum, that the following are true statements.
Please advise if this is not the case.

 There are items grayed out on the trial version that will be accessible when x4 is purchased/upgraded.
 Disk(s) will come with purchase of upgrade.
 In order for changes made to a vsp file to be seen when trying to create disk, file must be rendered first.

I’m going by memory on this one as I’m not on my home pc at this time.
When I multi trim I get an error message after program checks “common” something. After I click cancel a couple of times it allows me to multi trim without a problem (that I know of). Is this because I’m on the TBYB version as far as you guys know? If this is not enough info I can get more when I am at home.

Enough for now.
TIA

The TBYB version is a full and functional version - everything is available to you so to answer specific points

* All item should be available to you in the TBYB version - nothing is greyed out because it is a trial version - but some functions are greyed out under certain circumstances - for instance "Create Video File" is greyed out if you do not have a video in the timeline.

* Disks only come if you specifically order/buy them as a 'boxed' version - or you can download the full programme to your PC and then burn the files to your own blank disks if you so wish.

* No and Yes - you can just take the .vsp into the Create Disc module and create a DVD without specifically rendering a file , but this can give problems in the final output.. We usually recommend that after you have completed your editing you use the project file (.vsp) to render a DVD compliant video which will contain all the changes you made during editing - you can then burn that to DVD.

* No something is not quite right on the multi-trim function - what you are seeing is NOT because you are on the trial version - perhaps if you tell us a bit more about exactly what sort of video you are trying to multi-trim and the exact procedure you use we may be able to sort it out.

Thanks for the response. I'll check out the error message when I get back on my home pc.

Hi

As Brian rightly says the TBYB is fully functioning.

However it is not provided with a full libraries content.

For instance when you try to create a disc the available menu templates are somewhat limited.

The purchased version will come with an additional Contents file that completes the installation.
In addition other templates can be downloaded as required, most work with the “instant project” option

But as said everything should work from capture/edit to creating a disc.
