PSPPx3U problem with copy into new image

Post by Kappes Buur »

I'm starting to wonder if I did not make a mistake by buying the new version of PSPPX3U.

There are 2 problems which I find most upsetting.

1. I open an image, 256 x 128 in size and create a new image 768 x 128 in size.
I click on the 256 x 128 image to bring it into focus and Ctrl+A to select the whole image, and Ctrl+C to copy the whole image.
Then I bring the new image into focus, then Ctrl+E to place the copied image at the left side, the image covers the 128 area perfectly.

Once the image is placed I Ctrl+G to deselect the image, the image shrinks to leave a 3 pixel uncovered area on the bottom.

2. Let's say there are several images open and I want to close one of them, so I right click on the image name to open the tool menu.
Rather than giving the option to close that particular image, it gives the option to close all images.
But going up to File, I am now given the option to close that particular image.
Which is ars-backwards.

My system specs: Image
My PSPP3XU version : 13. 2. 1. 20

Does anyone have a solution to either problem ??

Try using Ctrl+D to deselect the image.

If you turn off Tabbed Documents in the Window menu, then the individual images should behave more as you expect them to; click the control button next to the image name, and you can close the individual image.

1) Wds937 seems to be correct that that's all you need to do. At least in my testing it does. :D But the removal of pixels itself is a known bug with a fix on its way in Patch #5. But we don't know when that patch will come. It pops up in a number of situations mostly involving floating and defloating a selection or using Merge Down on layers.

2) It's backwards but you can change that if you want to by using the Customize option.

If you aren't aware of how to do that then here are some directions, Otherwise you don't need them. :D

a) Go to the View menu and select "Customize" from the bottom of the menu

b) In the dialog that pops up select the "Menu" tab.

c) In the "Context Menu" frame select "Main" from the drop down box. And the context menu will pop up with the ability to add, remove, or rename the menu items.

d) Click on the "Commands" tab

e) Select File from the menu list and select the close option dragging it into menu either above or below Close All for the most logical position.

f) Hit OK to apply the change. The Close option should now be available in the context menu for the image.

Oh, wow, that was quick.

About using Ctrl+G to deselect the selection, that was a slip of my fingers.

Thank you very much for your help.
Now I'm looking forward to the new patch.

I found a Corel solution to the dropped pixel problem, while browsing LeviFiction's youtube site.

http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... re-dropped

I downloaded the file and copied it into the directory where Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo.exe can be found and ran it. Took all of a few seconds. And it works.
