Hi !!!
As I launch a videocapture on videostudio pro X4, I don't get any video display on my screen, only hearing the sound. Afterwards, the generate file is OK with picture and sound.
Help me. Thanks

Bonjour Alain -- soyez le bienvenu au forum!
Unfortunately, you provide no real information on which we can base even a reasonable guess. We have no idea what type of video you are trying to capture, whether you are trying to capture from a camcorder (if so which kind) or some other device (detailed description) and how it is connected to your computer. Get back to us with this information and I am sure someone will then be able to help.

Re: VideoStudioPro X4 Video capture no video display
Hello Ken !!! Thanks for you quick feedback. The source is a camcorder SONY DCR-HC52. The required format is DV Type1. The camcorder is connected to my PC with a firewire cable. No problem with Videostudio pro X3, the video is correctly displayed on my screen.Ken Berry wrote:Bonjour Alain -- soyez le bienvenu au forum!

Re: VideoStudioPro X4 Video capture no video display
It has been a very long time since I have captured DV using any version of VS, so I don't really know what to suggest. You could try playing around with Preferences > General > Instant Playback, but I think that is really for projects once the capture has been completed.
You could also try WMM or a small freeware program quite a few of us here use called WinDV from windv.mourek.cz If either of them give a similar result, at least then we will know whether or not X4 is the cause of the problem.

Thanks Ken. I've tryed successfully WMM. The pictures are correctly displayed. With the menu Capture intoo Videostudio pro X3, the pictures are also correctly displayed. My problem is specific from Videostudio pro X4 where the pictures are not displayed during the capture. I get only a black screen, but hear the sound during the capture.
Thanks

Re: VideoStudioPro X4 Video capture no video display
I understand fully that you want X4 to capture correctly. All I am saying is that you don't have to have that if there are other completely satisfactory options. I have no idea why you are having your current problem, but will be interested if others can find a solution for you. But in the meantime, if you have a perfectly workable alternative, then why not use it???
