VSX4 how do you recover a DVD project

Post by bjsolko »

I finished the DVD, looks great, now I want to make another DVD the next day. How do I recover the project? In VSX3 made it really easly to recover DVD projects with all the menus, chapters and any other setting. Where does VSX4 save the finish project at?

Welcome to the forums.. :)

Where did you tell VS to save it? When you close the burn module, you see the elusive Saving Project. Where this is saved to is unknown, and what it is saving is just the DVD menu items, I think. It is not until you save the project from the editor, is the whole thing saved. Even if you have an empty time-line, you must choose to save it, providing a name for the project, and a location on your system.

The DVD menu and set up is saved within the Share >> Create Disc window when you save your project (.vsp) file - open the project file which you gave a sensible name to and directed it to a sensible folder on your PC when working on your project and go to the create disc window and it will all still be there.

If there is a chance in future that you will need to make more than one copy of a DVD then the best option is to "Create DVD Folders" in the final burn stage of every project - you can then burn the folder to as may individual DVDs as you like.

If you did not do either of those all is still not lost - if you have a Disc copy function on your computer then just use that to copy the DVD as many times as you like. If you do not have the facility on your computer to copy disc the put the DVD in your computer tray and copy the 'Video_TS' folder from it to your hard drive - then just copy that Video_TS folder to individual blank DVDs to make as many copies as you like.
