small symbol or icon on video clips

Post by wkutter »

Just got a new HD video camera, Sony HDR-CX550V. Recorded short video clips and imported these clips (format AVCHD) to my computer using VS Pro X3. The imported clips have small icons or symbols in the top left corner. What do these symbols represent ? Where can I find descriptions of these symbols ?

Welcome to the forums.. :)

VS will place various symbols on the video clips at times. One of the more prominent is associated with Smart Proxy. If you're using Smart Proxy, VS will mark those clips with a symbol, I think in the middle of the thumbnail. In the Libraries, video clips are indicated by a Filmstrip icon in the upper-left of the thumbnail. Finally I don't know of any list for these markings. I've tried to locate something, going back several versions and can not find anywhere that Corel has documented these.
