DVD MF 7SE crashes when trying to run preview

Post by tfletchr »

I'm sure I saw the solution to the problem (before it happened to me) somewhere in this forum, but now I can't locate the solution. Can someone point me in the right direction?

What format was the video you inserted in the MF 7 timeline?

Hello, Ken

AVCHD NTSC HD 1920 x 1080 .mpg movie file rendered in Video Studio Pro X3, at the Share step. Skipping the preview, the files burn perfectly.

Hello tfletchr,

You may want to download all the updates for VS X3 first. You can download all the updates at http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 0460544373

I downloaded all three updates for VideoStudion Pro X3. Same situation.

DVD MF 7 SE will not PROPERLY burn AVCHD .mpg files produced in VSProX3 that are made up of JPEG files. When attempting to open the .mpg file on the burned disc, nothing happens.
Problem may be linked to my other posted problem "DVD burn problems - DVD Factory Pro 2010".

AVCHD .mpg files produced in VSProX3 and made up of a variety of video files (.mpg, .mts) burn okay.

2 April 2011

After some experimenting, I discovered that the .mpg files that contained .wmv movies (from Microsoft Movie Maker) are the ones that crash DVD MF 7SE. Here's what happened within VS Pro X3: I placed the .wmv file (basically a slide show) on the second timeline and added photos on the primary timeline to correspond with the .wmv photos. Then split off the .wmv audio from its video, so I could keep the .wmv audio with the new VS Pro X3 slide show and render an AVCHD .mpg file. I found out later that the .mpg files prepared that way in VS Pro X3 were 1.3 times larger than .mpg files without the .wmv files. So, there's more of the .wmv remaining in the rendered file that may be supposed. For some reason those files sometimes prevent the 'preview' function in MF 7SE, but will burn a disc; and, even though a disc is burned, it will not play. Further, such a .mpg file containing the .wmv file seems to corrupt VS so that other projects won't render properly. I hope this is the end.
