I had a friend bring up a good idea. Most of my speedskating videos are interlaced. How do you use X4 to deinterlace my video? I record with a Canon HFS20 and the file format is .MTS. Please provide a step by step if possible. Normally I would put in my titles and then just go to:
Share > Create Video File > Blu-ray > then 1920 x 1080

Re: Deinterlacing on Videostudio X4
Can you tell us exactly why you want/need it de-interlaced? It will play properly as it is, either on software DVD/Blu-Ray players or on stand-alone ones. You can save it as Frame Based if you want a sort-of progressive p de-interlaced video, but it will be the same frame rate. I just don't understand what you are after...

Re: Deinterlacing on Videostudio X4
I looks like the program doesn't have this filter, Free Virual Dub does. So I have to encode twice. Very sorry. When I was converting normal mpg files from mpg and getting divx avi file out of it, Corel Video Sudtudio X4 Pro made interlace on the file and had no filter to remove this nasty effect
. Is there any way to convert filter from virtual dub if it's so expensive to create on?

Hi
yes it will de-interlace, Video Studio provides many video templates but cannot show all, so some customisation may be required.
You can also use the Make Movie Templates Manager to create your own template
Share Create Video File-Custom-Save type as Microsoft Avi-Options- General Tab - Frame type as Frame Based - Avi Tab - Compression DixX 6.9.2 is what I see
Configure-choose the profile to match original video files aspect ratio-
Explore the Codec/ Video tabs for additional settings.
