Scrolling text?

Post by Bob Hughes »

Is there a way to scroll a number of lines of text from the bottom and off the top in a title frame?

Type your lines of text

In the pane to the left of the preview window click to tick "Animation"

in the drop down window against 'type' choose 'FLY'

Either choose the first of the presets - OR - click on the double capital T's next to 'Fly' and make sure that in the ENTER the bottom up arrow is selected and in EXIT the top up arrow is selected. click OK

Don't forget to select a suitable long duration for the title or it will scroll up to quick to read.

Thanks I tried your suggestion & it works but when I use 75 lines of text it just takes to long to Create the iso file. I guess my P4 1.6 Gb 512 Mb is just too slow :-( I'll just try it one page at a time or maybe forget the whole idea. I'm trying to create a SVCD. Just got my DVD burner today but don't expect that will be different. <S>

Wait, Bob.

How long did it take? Give us a little more.

I don't get the impression that your computer couldn't handle it. But I haven't worked with titles, and would like to benefit from your experience.

Okay here goes. I have been producing slide shows with music as a background. My last one was a 735 MB image about 45 min long with 400 + slides 6 sec each and 17 titles which I use as chapter marks. It takes ~ 1 hour to create an image file. I've never timed it because I just go away & do something else. This time I had a 40.4 MB image with one 2 min image, no music & and ~ 75 lines which I pasted into the 2 min Title using fly animation option. I then went to output to create a SVCD directly on a rw CD. I started converting and went to dinner & when I came back it was just over 30% completed so I aborted. I just finished a short test. Here are ~ Times for converting 3 videos. I only tested each for 45 min. & just for fun I got rid of animation & ran same test for single image file (Now 39MB)
735MB 40.4MB 39MB
15 min 21% 21% 100%
30 min 40% 25%
45 min 55% 27%
So it would appear the fly animation requires a lot of overhead.
