I have a friend that took some pictures with a gray background. Can anyone make any suggestions on how I can fix it?
I'm using PaintShop Photo Pro X3
Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Photo Fixes
I am going to guess that, by "fix it," you want to change the gray background to another color. There are several ways this can be done. I would probably tackle this by selecting the background (leaving the metal objects in the pictures unselected), and using the Color Changer Tool to change the background color.
You may want to work in another layer to make corrections easier.
To select the background, you should be able to get most of the way there by using the Magic Wand Tool. Try a low value (5 or 10) for Tolerance, set the Mode to Add, and make sure the Contiguous checkbox is checked. Experiment with RGB Value, Color, or Perceptual for the Match mode setting. You may also have to do some hand-selection right around the metal objects.
Once you have the background selected, choose a color from the Materials palette. Use the Color Changer Tool to apply the chosen color to the selected area. Use the Paint Brush to do any touching up around the edges, experimenting with Hardness and Opacity values (start each at 50 or so).

The tutorial was created using PSP X2 but you can still apply if on PSP X3.

Re: Photo Fixes
If you're just trying to make the items pop a little more increasing the contrast can work wonders.
