Batch conversion
I received a large numer of .cdr (Coreldraw X5) files. I need to batch convert them to .jpg files. Is this possible in Paintshop Pro, or Coreldraw (in my opinion no batch conversion), or is there a specific converter available to do this? Thanks for any advise

Re: Batch conversion
Well I just looked at PSP X3 and it appears to open CDR files. You could just batch process them to jpegs (I haven't tried to do this).
Click File > Batch Process
You'll get a screen with options. Click browse to find the CDR files and select them.
Put Save Mode to New Type.
Under Type put Jpeg.
You can rename them while this happens too.
Choose a destination folder.
Click Start
You can even run a script on the files if you want.

Re: Batch conversion
PSP won't open CDR files produced in CorelDRAW X5. The other problem is that CorelDRAW images is a page based system... the sheet of paper is part of the file.

Re: Batch conversion
I use FasStone image viewer. It is very light and handy when needed. It has very flexible batch functions for any kind of image file. There is built in batch conversions in Pshop and Bridge but this on FastSTone is much better.

Re: Batch conversion
Hello erdna,
Unfortunately Corel Draw X5 does not have a batch process feature but if you have the full version installed, you should have the MACRO called "CONVERTER.START" that works exactly like a batch process convert.
The CONVERTER.START is self-explanatory, you can locate or run the CONVERTER.START Macro by opening Corel Draw X5, then click on TOOLS > MACROS > RUN MACRO Then in the MACROS IN: select FILECONVERTER (FileConverter.GMS) then select CONVERTER.START, then click on RUN button. You can actually select just the folder where all teh CDR are located and the Macro will automatically search for the files. Then just select the DESTINATION before clicking on the CONVERT button. I did test this and you can actually convert a CDR file to any of the following file format:
AI, BMP. CDR, CGM, CPT, CMX, DSF, DES, DXF, EPS, GIF, JPG, PCT, PNG, PPF, SVG, SWF, TIF, WPG, WMF

Re: Batch conversion
Thx Abel. In the mean time I used the Macro function and converted cdr 250 files to jpg. I finally needed a single pdf file which I created with a virtual pdf writer(W2PDF) out of the converted jpg's.
