I had the x3 trial.
Then bought the x4. And uninstalled x3 first.
X3 worked fine, but X4 crashes
(
50% of other cpu and reading
vstudio.exe FASTIO_QUERY_OPEN C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\14.0\SYSER SUCCESS
and
vstudio.exe FASTIO_QUERY_OPEN D:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio Pro X4\en-US\kernel32.dll SUCCESS
)
It crashes every time when I click the Transition -> My Favorities (dropdown)
specs:
xp sp3, 4gb ram, core 2 duo, ssd, directX 9.0C (4.09.00000.0904)
I might have installed some transition effects etc. that the app advertises in the start. how to remove them?
x4 transition menu click=crash

Hello jukka,
You may want to perform a clean reinstallation of both the VS X3 and VS X4.
To manually remove VS X3 and VS X4: http://corel.custhelp.com/app/answers/d ... _id/764392, then reinstall VS X4 using the disc or download link that you have.
Once that is done, update the necessary codecs on your computer, since you are using Windows XP.
Here are some of the codecs that you may want to install.
RealPlayer: http://www.real.com/
DivX: http://www.divx.com/en/software/divx-plus/codec-pack
XviD:http://downloads.xvid.org/downloads/xvidcore-1.2.2.zip
Windows Media Player: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... dia-player or just download the Windows Encoder at http://www.microsoft.com/expression/pro ... rview.aspx
