Video freezes and halts when playing DVD - Version 8 or 9
On any DVD I create, using either version... the preview looks great... I create the DVD and the DVD freezes (on different DVD players) or will start and stop. It will show pixils and such while it is doing so. The computer creating it is a 2.8 Ghz so it is plenty powerful enough. The video is coming from a USB hard drive (possible problem?) Does anyone know why this maybe happening? It only started once I installed version 9.... Thanks in advance....

could be your discs
Hi, I believe that it could be a disc compatability issue. I have also had the same thing happen to me in the past. Different DVD players and different media sometimes react to each other causing pixalation during playback. Troy experimenting with different discs and burn at lower speeds. hope this helps.

I have the same problem with Videostudio 9
I upgraded to VS9 and cut some DVD's and found that they looked fine until at certain parts they would either freeze or the audio and video would not sync up. Instead of importing the VSP into the "Create Disc" section, I brought the clips I wanted directly and did not use any titles or transitions. It works fine now, although I am irritated that I am not getting what I expected from the software. Anyway, you might try backing off the complexity.

Werner -- you probably should not have been importing the VSP (project) file directly into the Creat Disc section anyway. After a lot of trial and error, a lot of people on this Board have concluded that it is very much safer to do all your edits and then first go to Share > Create Video File. Then when you have produced your DVD (or VCD/SVCD) compatible video file, you go to Share > Create Disc, and insert that newly created file, add chapters and do your menus and then burn. It is of course theoretically possible to follow the procedure you have adopted, but all too many people have experienced a variety of errors that way. Anyway, all of this is set out in some detail in the sticky post on recommended procedures at the top of this particular Board.
