moviefactory 7 pro versus toshiba or version 5

Post by rkonkin »

Good morning,

I tried searching the forums but could not find a similar issue. I hope I'm not wasting anyone's time. I have toshiba satellite a210 laptop . Originally, version 5 was prebundled with the laptop and I had issues with the software stopping or locking up. I formated my hard drive, reloaded the toshiba back to out of box status. I reloaded from my backup disks, downloaded all windows updates and still encountered the same issues. I went to the Corel website and purchased the pro 7 version(I didn't see a toshiba option) but now I find I am really limited on the transitions. I mostly use this for slide shows. Version 5 had random transitions. It seems to be missing from 7 pro. Also, is there any option for using mp3 files instead of wavs for music. Would there be any benefit in getting the Toshiba version? Am I using the wrong program to try to get professional looking slide shows?

Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,

When you're in the Add Slideshow, you're saying that you do not have all the transition categories, namely the random?

DMF 5 was the only version that had a specific Toshiba version that I'm aware of. DMF 7 Pro should work fine with your laptop. Have you downloaded and installed the patches for DMF 7? http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 5525182943

There's several products around that are made specifically for creating video slide-shows. Most video editing applications are very capable of this, just requiring a little more effort than a template based program. With DMF 7 Pro, if all you're using it for is to create slide-shows, you're not using much of what the program is capable of. I will say that DMF has always done a good job with the ease of creating slide-shows. Here's one that is suppose to do a real good job... CLICK HERE
