Auto import

Post by ArcticGuard »

Hello,

I am new to PSP X3, When I first installed it, it was running very slowly on my computer. Every time I would plug my memory card reader into the computer a dialog box would appear asking me if it wanted me to import files and delete afterwards. After a couple of times doing this, I somehow disabled that dialog box so it would not appear and would not automaticaly start downloading my memory card because it was running so slowly. I just made the appropriate upgrades to my computer and PSP X3 is running smoothly and a whole lot faster now. I would like to enable the automatic downloading of my memory card and deleting the files on the card afterward, but for the life of me I cannot find that option anywhere in preferences or anywhere else. Anyone have suggestions?

It's either the Corel Photo Downloader. Or it's the Windows photo downloader. I'm going to assume it's Corel's since that is when you started noticing this dialog.

Open up your start menu and go to the Corel Paint Shop Pro folder. Open it and you should find Corel Photo Downloader there in the options.

Of course opening that just starts it running in the background. What you need to do is set it up to start when the system does. There are two ways to do this.

1) Inside Corel Paint Shop Pro X3, in the File menu select File->Preferences->General Program Preferences.
Next select the "Photo Downloader" option from the list. And mark the check-box next to "Load Corel Photo Downloader when my computer starts up." It should now start up every time you start up your computer. Go ahead and run the program as stated above.

2) The second way is to mark this inside the Photo Downloader's options itself. Go to your taskbar and find the Corel Photo Downloader icon (the camera with a downward arrow on it) right-click on this icon and select "Default Settings" there you will find all of the settings for manipulating how the program works including whether or not it loads when the computer starts up.

Hello ArcticGuard,

Just an additional steps provided by Levi.

You can locate the COREL PHOTO DOWNLOADER from the START > ALL PROGRAMS > Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3 folder, then right-click on the COREL PHOTO DOWNLOADER icon then select OPEN, this will then open the COREL PHOTO DOWNLOADER DEFAULT SETTINGS window then just place a checkmark on the "DETECT CAMERAS AND CAMERA MEMORY CARDS" and the "DETECT CDS AND OTHER REMOVABLE DRIVES". Then click on OK.
