Studio 9 Won't Go Past First Menu

I downloaded the trial version of Studio 9, and installed it.
I get the choice box, I pick "Try Now," I get the switchboard
box that gives me three choices of sub-applications; no matter which one I pick, after maybe 20 seconds worth of loading, Windows XP gives me a message. "Ulead VideoStudio has encountered a problem and needs to close."

That's as far as I've gotten with it.

Has anyone else found a way around this problem?
